Why does Rudolph's nose glow? That's one of many questions that will be answered during holiday-themed activities going on at Sci-Port. With the exception of Christmas Day, when the Science Center will be closed, holiday programming will continue daily from 2 to 5 p.m. At 2 and 4 each afternoon through December 30th, the kids can take part in Toy Making Workshops, and take the toys they make home with them. Some of the toys to make...Cartesian divers, kazoos and spinning tops. A new program running daily at 3 p.m. is Why Does Rudolph's Nose Glow?, which teaches visitors how and why some animals and minerals emit light. And don't forget about Sci-Port's annual New Year's at Noon celebration. This year, the party is going on between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, December 31st. At noon that day, you get to ring in the New Year with our East Asian counterparts as they celebrate at midnight. That party includes the traditional Dragon Dance and a balloon drop. Visit Sci-Port's website for a complete list of activities. That's www.sciport.org.
