Historic Shreveport restaurant Herby K's is hosting its 4th Annual Block Party and Benefit Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, from 1-6 p.m.

According to a news release from Apex Events, which is organizing the party, the event features live music by Bayou Gypsy, Kelcy Mae and Red Thread on an outdoor stage, bounce houses, face painting and entertainment for the kids, and adoptable pets and a "puppy park."

And let's not forget about the food! Attendees get to enjoy two buffets featuring the restaurant's signature dishes -- Shrimp Busters, fried catfish, homemade onion rinks, chicken and sausage gumbo, poboys and more.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and you can get them online at herbyks.eventbrite.com or in person at the rstaurant, located at 1833 Pierre Avenue.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to PetSavers of Shreveport, which rescues abandoned or unwanted pets and find loving homes for them, and provide funds for neutering, spaying and other veterinary care.

Beer will be available for purchase, but is not included in the admission cost. Security will be provided.
