Over the past month, and more so the past week, gas prices have been climbing at a crazy pace.  Just in one day, prices in Shreveport-Bossier jumped 6 cents, from an average of $3.53 to now an average price of $3.59 per gallon.

Why the hike in prices?

"This is the time of year where we see a transition from winter grade gasoline to summer grade gasoline," AAA spokesman Don Redman told 710 KEEL.  Redman does note that this is early to see this sort of peak, however, it is definitely possible.  He also added that there is not a shortage or capacity concern, but rather a scheduled shutting down of refineries for maintenance.

So, how high will the prices go?  Give us your guesses!
