Local Gas Prices On the Rise As Memorial Day Approaches

Folks across the ArklaTex have noticed that gas prices have been on the rise of late, approaching the $2.50 per gallon mark at some stations. And with the Memorial Day weekend rapidly approaching, area motorists can expect the cost of petrol to shoot up even more.

Despite the recent price hikes, gas here at home is still relatively cheap.. Louisiana motorists are shelling out a mere $2.41 a gallon, compared to more than $3.80 in California. Across the USA, prices have risen by about a nickel a gallon since the weekend.

Despite the rising cost, drivers in Louisiana the second lowest per gallon price in America. The only place lower? South Carolina checks in at #1 at a mere $2.38 a gallon. And despite the dent in your wallet, don't forget that gas is still about a dollar a gallon cheaper than it was this time last year.
