Former Bossier City Mayor George Dement died Sunday morning at his DeSoto Parish farm where he and his late wife Sunshine lived since he left the mayor’s office back in 2005.

Truly loved by the citizens of Bossier City, Dement served as mayor for four terms and during that time was instrumental for incredible growth to Bossier City including the construction of the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, three different casinos and the construction of the Centurylink Center.

He would have been 92 later this month.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Bossier. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral.
