An afternoon fire has damaged one apartment in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood. It was reported just after 12:30 in the 200 block of Olive Street. Fire crews arrived a couple of minutes later to find a two-story apartment building with smoke coming from a downstairs unit. The fire was quickly brought under control, and no one was in that apartment at the time. Neighbors say someone had left the apartment just before the fire. The building has a total of four apartments, but the only damage was from smoke to that one apartment...and the other occupants got out safely. Investigators are checking into what caused the fire.
