Event to Raise Child Abuse Awareness

This month of April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. That's why Volunteers for Youth Justice is teaming up with law enforcement, the courts, some churches, and a lot of private businesses the put on a child abuse awareness event this week. Called "Light of Hope," it runs from 6:30 until 8:30 Friday evening at the Louisiana Boardwalk. There'll be speakers to help drive the point home and a whole lot of things for families to do -- including face painting, arts and crafts, performances, and some big prizes you can win. Oh, and did I mention -- it's free?
