Donkeys and Horses and Sheep…Oh, My!

The Caddo Sheriff's Office is auctioning off some unclaimed animals. There are seven donkeys -- five jacks and two jennies. Three were owner-released and the others were found near Jefferson-Paige/Standard Oil Roads in west Caddo Parish, Caldwell-Briggs Road in north Caddo Parish, Hwy. 530 at Clyde Place Road in Vivian and Old Atlanta Road in Vivian. The horses were all owner-released...a 7-year-old brown and white paint gelding, 7-year-old sorrel mare, and 10-month-old stud colt. In addition, two Barbarossa sheep were found in the area of Buncombe Road and Hwy. 169. The animals will go up for public sale next week, and the Sheriff's Office will accept sealed bids from 8 a.m. until noon Wednesday, the 28th, at the North Market Street substation.
