Coming on the heels of the defeat of the 17 cent a gallon gas tax increase in this legislative session, the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the "fiscal cliff" crowd have, predictably, begun. But on op-ed published in the Baton Rouge Advocate now makes the claim that legislators from our area voted to nix the tax, because of we, in this part of the state, get so much more from state government, including better roads.
