Ladies: Take a Firearms Intro Class with Erin McCarty

Until recently, I had only shot a gun once in my life. It was with a friend at a shooting range.

I had never owned a gun, and to be quite honest, I was a little afraid of them.

But since my sons are grown, I wanted to buy a gun for extra protection and get enough training and practice in that I can be confident using it. I need a lot of help, though: I want to learn about the different types of guns and which would be best for me. And, of course, I want to be sure I'm storing it and handling it safely and properly.

The folks at DavTac Custom Arms & Ammo told me that my questions and concerns are pretty common. They regularly offer concealed carry classes, tactical courses for pistols and rifles and introductory courses just for women. The facility also offers gun range memberships and sells a variety of new and used guns.

The team recently showed me around DavTac, too, and I got a little more comfortable with their facility and handling a weapon.

My ultimate goal is to get my concealed carry license and carry a gun in my purse for safety. I feel like the professionals at DavTac are the right ones to give me the confidence and peace of mind I need.
