We have some great news for crawfish fans this week.  Prices have dropped significantly for both live and boiled crawfish.  Some restaurants have dropped prices by $3 a pound this week.

The cheapest price we could find on February 15th for live crawfish is at Cajun Seafood Depot on Barksdale Boulevard, Larry P's Boiling Pot on Bert Kouns and B&D Seafood on Palmetto Road in Benton.  All 3 are now charging $3.50 a pound for live mudbugs.

You can really find some deals on boiled crawfish. Shanes has now dropped the prices for boiled mudbugs to $4.99 a pound.  I would expect many of the others to follow suit soon. This price is down by about 3 dollars a pound from just a week ago.

Remember these prices will continue to fall as soon as the weather warms up.  Last year, the prices for boiled crawfish dipped below $4.00 a pound at most places. I did find some live crawfish at Brookshires in Benton for $2.99 a pound.  But that is a special and you might call ahead to see if you can still get some.

Best advice to crawfish connoisseurs is to call first before heading off to buy some bugs.  You want to make sure these hot spots are not sold out.
