Shreveport Councilwoman Stephanie Lynch tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that she will vote no to move forward with Mayor Ollie Tyler's plan to borrow $30 million to fund the building of a sports arena at downtown's Cross Bayou.

Lynch also tells KEEL listeners that she and Councilman Willie Bradford co-authored a resolution - basically a "thanks, but no thanks" - rejecting the overtures made to the city by the NBA New Orleans Pelicans, because of "overwhelming opposition that has come our way" from Shreveport citizens, both in and out of her council district.

The City Council will vote Tuesday afternoon whether to take the next step in beginning the process of issuing the $30 million in bonds to finance the proposed structure.
