Shreveport City Councilman Grayson Boucher talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the status of the billion-dollar-plus Cross Bayou development proposal.

Boucher tells KEEL listeners that the latest proposal, introduced by Councilman Willie Bradford, is seeking a commitment by the city to the development, which calls for the city to purchase and donate an 88-acre piece of land in the Cross Bayou area, a $130 million T.I.F. tax exemption program and for Shreveport to pay for an environmental study and cleanup, the cost of which is estimated to be in excess of $20 million.

Boucher restates his opposition to the proposal, adding that his constituents are not enthusiastic about the project either.
