With the summer swimming a boating season in full swing, the Army Corps of Engineers' Vicksburg District is taking an active approach toward educating the public about water safety procedures at is lake recreational areas, beaches, and river projects in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Safety features found at the District's water recreational facilities include barrier buoys, depth designation poles, rescue stations, reach poles, throw bags, boat restriction buoys, a bulletin board with swimming rules and water safety regulations, and a life jacket loaner board.
