A volunteer treasurer at Broadmoor Christian Church on Youree Drive has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the church.  Caddo Sheriff's Detective Bobby Herring says 63-year-old Evelyn Brown was a volunteer treasurer at the church from January to November of this year.  During that time, she's believed to have fraudulently gained access to church bank accounts and transferred more than $100-thousand to an unused church operating account.  Then, Herring says, she forged the signature of the authorized signer on that account to write checks to herself.  The church notified the sheriff's office when discrepancies were noted in the accounts.  Brown is now at CCC charged with felony theft and illegal transmission of monetary funds.
