SHREVEPORT, LA - We continue to watch more and more people leaving Louisiana. This outmigration has been a concern in the Bayou State for more than 10 years. State leaders are working on measures to turn this around.

What Helps Keep People in Louisiana

One thing we do have is our low cost of living. In fact, some cities in Louisiana rank among the most affordable in the nation. It is relatively inexpensive to live in the state when you look at communities on the west coast or places in the northeast. We are even cheaper than several other southern states.
