In July of 2008, the carcass of a bloated, chimera-like animal washed ashore in Long Island. The ‘Montauk Monster‘ terrified and fascinated the nation that summer, with zoologists eventually concluding the beast was probably a water-damaged raccoon, rather than some sort of byproduct of a top-secret experiment gone horribly wrong.
Four years later, it looks like we have another monster on our hands.

One of Michael Jackson‘s many idiosyncrasies was his love for exotic animals. And since the late music legend was sort of the rich madman type, he kept a menagerie of giraffes, flamingos, orangutans, elephants and tigers on his notorious Neverland Ranch.
Sadly, one of the tigers — who Jackson had named ‘Thriller’ after his seminal 1982 album — has passed away.

Over the weekend 50 dogs took part in the seventh annual Loews’ Surf Dog competition. We’ve known dogs love to surf ever since the days of Spuds Mackenzie, but to see that many canines getting together to “hang ten” was quite a sight.
