Car Theft Suspect Flees: Captured by K-9 “Diesel”

SHREVEPORT, LA-  Stolen vehicle flees Shreveport police, but suspects are captured with help from K-9 officer Diesel

On October 18th, 2023, around 11:50 a.m., Shreveport Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle in the 3700 block of Greenwood Road. The driver refused to stop and led officers on a brief chase. The vehicle then made an abrupt stop and three occupants fled on foot.

Officers gave chase to the suspects and called for the assistance of Shreveport Police K-9 “Diesel.” Diesel was able to assist in locating all three suspects. Two of the suspects were determined to be juveniles (17 years of age and 16 years of age). The driver was identified as Javeyun James (5-24-05).

James was charged with one count of Resisting, one count of Illegal Possession of a Stolen thing, one count of Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway, and one count of Aggravated Flight.
