The Caddo Sheriff's Office warns the public to take extra precautions to secure their property. Sheriff Steve Prator says his office is working several cases of commercial equipment and ATV thefts. Fourteen thefts of tractors, ATVs and trailers in northern Caddo Parish have been reported since the end of April. The stolen equipment includes six flatbed-type trailers, four farming/construction implements and six ATVs. In some cases, multiple ATVs were stolen. Most of the cases were received between June and the July 4th weekend, and occurred between LA Hwy 169 north to LA Hwy 2, along U.S. Hwy 71. Sheriff Prator says it's not known if the thefts are related, but he urges residents to secure their property and record important identifying data, like serial numbers. And anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
