Caddo Parish Gearing Up for New School Year

Caddo Parish public school students head back to the classrooms Thursday. And schools Superintendent Gerald Dawkins says, under the new Vision 20-20 Plan, there are a lot of changes in store this school year. He says this is just the first phase of the plan...there are a couple of more to come. He says -- aside from some last-minute cleaning and painting -- the schools are ready to go...and so are the students, parents and teachers. As for buses, Dr. Dawkins says more than half of Caddo's fleet is air-conditioned. So the heat shouldn't be too much of a problem for the kids.
