Caddo Fire District Gets Wildfire-Fighting Tool

Caddo Fire District-3 in the Greenwood area now has a new tool to use in fighting wildfires. After a rash of drought-related wildfires this past summer, the district went to S3 Powersports on Barton Drive in Shreveport in search of a vehicle made specifically for brush and woods fires. District-3 Fire Chief Ernest Mitchell says the district had an idea of what it wanted to buy and asked the folks at S3 for their advice and guidance. But he says, instead of just providing that guidance, the folks at S3 realized how busy the district had been during the summer and decided to buy the district a Polaris Ranger and all of the parts and labor needed to customize it for fire-fighting purposes. Chief Mitchell says the new vehicle will also be available to other fire districts for fighting brush and wildfires anywhere in Caddo Parish.
