SHREVEPORT, LA-  Caddo Parish Coroner Dr. Todd Thoma names couple slain in car

A man and woman found shot to death in a car in the Caddo Heights neighborhood early Wednesday, March 13, 2024 have been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Erica Pitts, 30, and Tavarae Loneman, 28, both of Shreveport, were found in a parked running car in a lot at the intersection of Clanton Street at St. Vincent Avenue shortly after midnight. Both had been shot numerous times and were pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:21 a.m.
The decedents were positively identified through fingerprint comparison. Autopsies were ordered.
The slayings are under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department and mark the 14th and 15th homicides in Shreveport and Caddo Parish to date in 2024.
