UPDATE: Woman Dies as a Result of a Stabbing on Oak Forest in MLK Neighborhood

Shreveport Police are on the scene of a stabbing in the 2900 block of Oak Forest.

Update: A woman was just getting home at about 4:30 Saturday morning when she was approached by an unknown man. It happened in the 2900 block of Oak Forest Lane in the MLK neighborhood.

The man pulled out a knife and slashed the woman in the neck.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Few details are available, but early this morning, more than 15 police and fire units were on the scene. Oak Forest Lane runs off of David Raines in the Martin Luther King Drive neighborhood. We will post updates as they become available.
