A Bossier City teenager has been arrested for stealing items from unlocked vehicles in two subdivisions earlier this week, and detectives are searching for two other teens.

Bossier sheriff's deputies have charged 17-year-old Austin Dingus with 16 counts of vehicle burglary, along with marijuana, Xanax and drug paraphernalia possession. He was booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. Additional charges are expected.

Dingus' two accomplices are still on the run. Detectives say 19-year-old Jason Simpson of Bossier City also faces 16 counts of vehicle burglary in the Cypress Bend and St. Charles Court subdivisions. They believe he's likely in the Shreveport area. He's a light-skinned black male, about 5'4" and 120 pounds.

Nineteen-year-old Nicholas Terry from Chandler, Arizona, is wanted on 10 counts of vehicle burglary in the Cypress Bend subdivision. He's a Hispanic male, about 5'6" and 150 pounds. He was previously arrested by Bossier deputies on May 8 for resisting an officer.

The teens' crime spree happened between May 4 and May 12, when they walked through the neighborhoods pulling on car door handles. If the car was unlocked, they took whatever they wanted from inside.

Detectives have recovered much of the stolen property, but they don't know who it all belongs to. Some residents in Cypress Bend and St. Charles Court have filed police reports, but others have not. If you have been a victim of a vehicle burglary, you're encouraged to report it to the Bossier Sheriff's Office at 318-965-2203.
