A veteran Bossier City police officer has been fired and arrested.  38-year-old Joseph Michael Caples was booked into the Bossier City Jail this morning after Police Chief Shane McWilliams terminated his employment.  He'd been with the department for nearly eleven years.  Caples is charged with illegal possession of stolen things, theft, and malfeasance in office.  He's accused of coming into possession of two stolen saxophones that had been taken in a vehicle burglary and then pawning them for $750.  City Spokesman Mark Natale stresses that Caples is not accused of breaking into the vehicle or stealing the saxophones -- only of possessing and pawning them.
