BOSSIER PARISH, LA-  Bossier Sheriff’s Detectives Investigating Death of Inmate

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington says an inmate died after experiencing a medical issue while incarcerated at the Bossier Maximum-Security Facility.  Bossier Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of an inmate at the Bossier Maximum-Security Facility on March 6, 2024.

35 year-old inmate Jerry McCoy, of Bossier City was found unresponsive in his cell in the early morning hours of March 6th. Medical personnel began performing CPR but McCoy did not respond despite their efforts.

Bossier Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation in conjunction with the Bossier Parish Coroner’s Office and are awaiting toxicology and autopsy results.
