Career expert website Zippia has analyzed 64 Louisiana cities with a population of more than 5,000 people on three key criteria for the 'Most Successful Cities' list. Only one city in northwest Louisiana made the top 10, and that was Bossier City.

Zippia looked at poverty level, median household income and unemployment rate.

"Median household income is the most digestible way to understand how wealthy a place really is. The unemployment rate tries to capture the prospects for more people to become rich. And finally, if more people are employed, the brighter (and more successful) that place’s future looks."

With a population of nearly 65,000, Bossier has a poverty level of 13.8%, a median household income of $47,103, and an unemployment rate of 6.4%.

So, which city is at the top of the heap? That honor goes to Youngsville in Lafayette Parish, which had a median income of $96,415, poverty rate of 4.2%, and unemployment rate of 6.1%.

And in case you were wondering, other northwest Louisiana cities did make the list. Shreveport came in at number 31, Minden at 48, Mansfield at 56, and Springhill at 60.
