We all heard the very sad story of two women who were murdered in their home over Mothers Day weekend this year. Jacqueline Beadle and Karyl Cox were both shot to death in their home in Bossier City. What you may not know is that the ladies had a 1-year-old Lab mix that was at the home of the time of the murders and was reluctant to leave.

So hesitant to leave in fact that the dog had to be carried out of the home.
Bossier City Animal Control named the dog Rip, which stands for "rest in peace." Rip has been in the shelter for more than three months now and is looking for a forever home.

According to KSLA, BCAC employee Judy Stewart says "He appeared to be taken care of and loved when I picked him up, so I think he was just grieving."

Animal control workers say because Rip has been there so long, had he been at any other shelter he would have been put to sleep by now. But shelter workers said they are so committed to finding Rip his forever family that they don't want to see that happen.

Rip's adoption fee is $70. Adoption hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Bossier City Animal Shelter, located at 3217 Old Shed Road. You can contact them by calling (318) 741-8499.
