Uber and Lyft could soon be on the way in Shreveport and Bossier City.

Shreveport City Councilman Michael Corbin says the council is expected to vote today on changes to the ordinance to allow the ride sharing companies to begin doing business in our community. Corbin says Bossier City typically follows the lead of Shreveport and he expects that to happen in this case.

Corbin tells KEEL more about the proposed changes to the city ordinance to open the door for Uber and Lyft.

Uber is now operating in Monroe, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and several other Louisiana cities.

One of the big holdups here has been the hold harmless agreement the city wanted the ride sharing companies to agree to. It looks like that will be changed in the new ordinance.
