Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation announces the Second Annual Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase this Sat., Sept. 8th at Shreveport's Independence Stadium.

Independence Stadium is home of the AdvoCare V-100 Independence Bowl. This historic sporting event will highlight some of the top high school football programs in the southern region and country.

The quality of powerhouse high school football teams selected and their fan base will take high school football in this region to new heights. The City of Shreveport would like to see the Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase become a model in bringing family athlethic events to Independence Stadium and this region.

The matchups this year  feature Byrd High, of Shreveport. against Marshall High, of Marshall, Texas. The game is a rematch from last year and it will begin at 3 pm. The Marshall Mavericks will be seeking revenge for their loss to Byrd last year.

The second game features West Monroe High against Calvary Baptist of  Shreveport at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the game. For more info, call 318-673-7838.
