Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry talks with 101.7/ 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about a recent Washington D.C. meeting on illegal immigration, a meeting that included President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

"Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry was among those who met with President Donald Trump Friday at the White House to discuss border security and building some sort of wall or barrier at the U.S. southern border with Mexico.

Landry, a Republican who is an advocate of the president's wall and who has been critical of what's known as 'sanctuary cities,' said he told the president a border without a wall is like a house with no front door.

Landry said he sat next to Vice President Mike Pence during Friday's roundtable.

The attorney general echoed Trump's assertion that America is facing "a crisis" on the southern border.

During Trump's Friday roundtable, he said the country is 'under siege' according to media reports.

Landry said the president told the group he would support comprehensive immigration reform if Congress agrees to fund the border wall."
