Gambling Revenues Dip for Shreveport Bossier Boats

Gambling revenues in Shreveport Bossier are down from December numbers, but that's pretty typical for January figures.

Horseshoe is still the top earner of all the local boats with close to $17 million for the month. That's down from $17.5 million in December.

Margaritaville Casino is 2nd on the list in the report from the Gaming Control Board. The areas newest boat brought in $11.6 million in January, down from  $11.7 million in December.

I did a little more digging to see how much the boats brought in ten years ago and you can clearly see the numbers are significantly lower. Horseshoe was bringing in more than $20 million a month ten years ago. But our area has added a 6th boat since then.

The five boats in Shreveport Bossier brought in $62 million in January of 2006 compared to $53 million for 6 boats in January of 2016.
