Mardi Gras season in Shreveport is one of the biggest Carnival celebrations in the state of Louisiana...a state known for its Mardi Gras. Between the multiple gigantic parades, delicious local King Cakes, and various parties, the Shreveport-Bossier area's Mardi Gras celebrations are truly only topped by those in New Orleans.

One of the biggest parts of Shreveport's Mardi Gras season are the Bals held by each Krewe. During the Bal event, the Krewe generally throws a massive party to celebrate the royalty for that season. In Shreveport, the biggest Mardi Gras Bal comes from the Krewe of Centaur, who will be hosting their Bal this year on Saturday, January 20th.

The Krewe of Centaur Bal will be loaded with food, fun, entertainment, and of course an amazing presentation of this year's Royalty...with full costumes and stage show. For the Centaur Bal, the menu includes Loaded Mac with Shrimp, Pork Lion on Slider Buns, and Meatpies. There will be an Open Bar during the event as well.

As far as entertainment goes, there will be live music during the pre-party with a DJ, photo booths, and a live performance from members of The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. The headlining music for the night will be The Chee-Weez!

One of Louisiana's premiere party bands, The Chee-Weez have been inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, and are one of the most in-demand band's across the state during Mardi Gras season. They will be making their return to the Centaur Bal for the first time in years.

Tickets for the Centaur Bal are available online until Friday, January 19th. They will also be available at the door the night of the Bal, but they will be more expensive that night.
