The next person to venture this far into space in more than 40 years could be you.

Maybe our obsession with space has been recharged since the release of the film Hidden Figures. It certainly has for me. I think about what could have been if I had dared to dream than softball and broadcast. The film definitely makes you think.

And now, were actually think about taking a trip to space.

How weird is that? To tell your friends "Sayonara!" because you're headed to space on your next vacation. Well, SpaceX is aiming to make that a reality as soon as next year. The company made the announcement that they have been approached to send two "private citizens" on a trip around the moon. A large deposit has already been paid for the mission and the next step is to conduct all health and fitness tests as well as training required to put them in orbit.

In fact, training could begin as early as the end of this year.

SpaceX will send their NASA funded Dragon 2 spacecraft into space to complete a trip around the moon. The Dragon 2 is already required to travel to the International Space Station twice a year. According to the New York Times, this lunar mission will be the farthest that man has traveled into space in more than 40 years. The passengers are expected to be on board the automated spacecraft for about a week before returning home.

I'm sure their SnapChat will be blowing up!
