Residents of several towns northwest of Little Rock, Arkansas were devastated by a tornado Sunday, April 27.  A number of charity groups have stepped in to help, including The Salvation Army.

Residents in the communities of Vilonia and Mayflower are in urgent need of non-perishable food, children's toys and plastic trash bags. However, the Salvation Army says that monetary donations are the most critical.

An online donation form has been created by the group for people to use to donate specifically to victims of the Arkansas tornado. Donations by phone can be made by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY, and texting STORM to 80888 will let people donate $10 to tornado relief.

Donations can also be mailed to:

The tornado that slammed the area grew to half a mile wide, demolishing homes and claiming over a dozen lives.
