The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Ford Fusion, driven by 23-year-old Ruby Brantley of Minden was headed west on Interstate 20. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway and entered a ditch, where it began rolling. Brantley, who was not buckled up, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. State Police have now learned Brantley died two days after the crash.
Impairment is not suspected in this crash, but routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. Troop G was notified that on October 13, 2024, Brantley had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. This crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists of the importance of making good decisions while operating motor vehicles.
