Witnesses Suggest a Tornado Hit Bossier Tonight
Witnesses at BeauxJax Crafthouse in Downtown Bossier have suggested that a possible tornado struck Bossier City this evening.
Strong storms have been moving through the area this afternoon and evening, leading to thousands without power. SWEPCO has reported as many as 17,000 without power in the ArkLaTex due to the weather.
From the photos provided by the BeauxJax Crafthouse Facebook page, multiple trees can be seen down across the Bossier City area, as well as damage to homes.
The National Weather Service website does not show any Tornado Warnings issued from the Shreveport Office, so if a tornado did cause the damage in Bossier City, it would have been extremely sudden and unpredictable. In fact, there was not even a Severe Thunderstorm Warning listed for Bossier Parish during this particular storm. As that storm moved into the Benton area, one was issued for the storm cell.
