Will The Camp Minden Burn Chamber Stay or Go?

The Camp Minden Burn Chamber is scheduled to complete destruction of 15 million pounds of M6 Propellant by mid-April. However, after that job is completed, some folks want the chamber to become a permanent fixture.

ESI wants the one of a kind chamber to remain on the property and destroy hazardous materials from across the country. They this would lure munitions-related companies to the area and create jobs.

Residents and opponents of the proposal don't want any more hazardous material brought to their community.

A public meeting to discuss the matter is scheduled to take place at 6:30pm Monday at the Minden Community Center.
