While we in the South get ready put winter weather behind us (it is the first of March for heaven's sake) and get ready for another glorious Louisiana spring, the folks up north are not only still in the throes of winter, they're looking at another sixty days of cold and snow.

Take our friends in the Great Lakes region, for example. Along the Ohio coast of Lake Erie going for a month or more with temps barely reaching the 30s can not only break the spirit, but it can also cause structural damage, with a combination of water blowing in from the lake coating beach-side houses in a multi-inch thick coat of ice.

So, while some will look at this video and marvel at the beauty of nature, even under the most adverse circumstances, we Southerners will just say, "No thanks, we'll take our 70 degree temps any day."
