The 2022 swiming season will continue through July 31st for all pools except Southern Hills, which will remain open weekends only through Sunday, September 4th, 2022.

There has been several weeks of controversy and confusion over who will manage the 5 Shreveport pools.  A local company, Rock Solid has managed the pools for the past 13 years without ever having submited a proposal, or been requested by the city to do so.  Then, in 2022,  RFP's were issued by the city for the management and maintenance of the city's pools.  KEEL News asked Mayor Perkins what instigated the change in city policy.  He told KEEL News the law changed in 2019, requiring RFP's to be issued for companies interested in managing and maintaining the pools.  Only two RFP's were solicited.  One from Rock Solid, and another from the Atlanta based resort pool management company, USA Pools.  After several weeks, and just days before the pools were scheduled to open, USA Pools withdrew their proposal.

If the law changed in 2019, why weren't RFP's sent out then?  Why wait two years to change the procedure?  Why did USA Pools withdraw?  But those are questions for another day...
