Erin McCarty and I take an online IQ test about every five years. We took the first a decade ago and she scored a well above average 128, while I scored a somewhat below the norm 87.

Five years ago we tool a second test. The brainy Ms. McCarty stood steady at 128. I, meanwhile, dropped five points, down to an even less intellectual 82.
