What You Need to Watch in the Legislative Session

But many other items will spark heated debate. The death penalty is expected to be a big subject. Several bills have been filed to do away with capitol punishment.
Shreveport Representative Cedric Glover has also proposed a bill to let local governments call elections to decide if marijuana should be legalized.
More than 1,000 bills will be up for debate.
Governor John Bel Edwards is expected to push bills for equal pay for women and minimum wage increases. Several new criminal justice reform bills are also up for discussion.
