Shreveport Water Turned Off in Part of Downtown
SHREVEPORT, LA - Water has been shut off to part of downtown Shreveport after a water main break on Friday afternoon.
Water and Sewer Director William Daniel tells KEEL News there was a water main break on Texas Street this afternoon. Crews will spend much of the evening making the repairs to the water main to ger the water flowing again. Water was turned out to a small part of downtown at about 5pm.
What Parts of Downtown Shreveport Have No Water Tonight?
Daniel tells us the water is now off at these locations:
100-200 block of Texas Avenue
100 block of Milam Street
400-500 block of Spring Street
400 block of Market Street
212 Texas Street
220 Texas Street
Texas at Market (south side)
The water mains in these areas will be repaired during this process. Daniel says this repair work will take several hours.
KEEL News has learned the Blind Tiger had to shut down because of no water.
We don't know yet if any other businesses have been forced to shut down because of no water.
