Nothing like getting a little motivational speech from the head coach of the National Championship football team. That's what happened for some teenagers in Baton Rouge. LSU Head Football Coach Ed Orgeron delivered a commencement speech to graduates of the Louisiana Leadership Institute.

Folks weren't sure he was going to make it to the ceremony, but he dropped in via helicopter and made the day for these grads.

 

Coach Orgeron told the crowd: "This is the first time I've been out of the office in eight weeks."

This graduates are members of quite a class. They are a group of academically talented teens from schools across the Baton Rouge area.

As you can see in the video, Coach O told the young people: "I want to encourage you to chase your dream, that's your dream. God put that in your heart, he put it in your mind. That's for you. That's your path. We don't really know where our path is gonna be, but if we follow it and we follow God and we do the right thing, it's gonna happen to you." .

He also told the youngsters:

"Go chase your dream. Everybody has a dream. I achieved my dream job at LSU because I got my education. Education is the number one factor in all our lives."

Coach O assisted the administrators in handing out the diplomas to the 64 graduates who walked across the stage. He wore an LSU facemask while doing the honors.

Every one of the grads is getting a $1,000 scholarship to spend on technology as they move into college.
