Earlier this week, multiple law-enforcement agencies worked together to take a wanted fugitive off the streets of Shreveport.

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, VCAT, and Warrant’s Unit, along with the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office and Louisiana State Probation & Parole, executed a plan to serve search and arrest warrants at a home on Clanton Street.

When SPD got to the scene, Officers were able to safely take Martin Davenport into custody. A search of the home led to the discovery of a gun.

The investigation showed that Davenport is a convicted felon with several prior convictions including aggravated burglary and aggravated second-degree battery. He has now been charged with:

· Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

· Resisting an Officer

· Fugitive Warrants (Illegal Appropriation & Parole Violation)

Davenport was taken to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked and the evidence was submitted.

From SPD:

"This arrest highlights the continued commitment and partnership between local and state agencies to target violent offenders and keep illegal firearms out of the hands of convicted felons.

The Shreveport Police Department will continue to work aggressively to hold repeat offenders accountable and keep our community safe."
