Stephen Waguespack, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the beginning of this year's legislative session and what major legislation could be in the offing.

"Wags" tells KEEL listeners that he has high hopes for House Speaker Clay Schexnayder, who was elected to his position after a heated battle with Rep. Sherman Mack. He reiterates the need for major tort reform, citing the need to lower the state's ever climbing insurance rates, and ways to rebuild Louisiana's roads and highways with limited funding available.

Waguespack adds that the legalization of sports gambling "could come back" and "you do hear a buzz out there that there could be serious debate on that one."
