When is the federal holiday this year? Well the federal rule is if November 11 happens on a Sunday, then the following Monday is the Federal holiday. If November 11 falls on a Saturday like it does this year, then the government may designate either Saturday or Friday. The 2023 federal observation date is Friday, November 10, 2023.

You might know that I am the proud daughter of a WWII Veteran who fought with the Marines at Okinawa. Both of my sons are in the military. I love our Veterans and hope you will honor them anytime you run across one. We are home to thousands of military folks from Barksdale Air Force Base right here in Shreveport Bossier.
