Veteran's Day is almost a week away...and there are lots of commemorations going on that day. One of those is being held at LSU Shreveport -- the second annual Veteran's Day program at the flag pole in the center of campus. The program features retired Air Force Lt. Col. Charlie Morgan as guest speaker. His career spand three decades as an aircrew member in the SR-71 and the B-52. Also featured, the playing of the national anthem by Arther Chatman and a reading of the traditional poem "In Flanders Field." As a special part of the program, LSUS students, faculty and staff will honor fallen service members by reading the names of Louisiana residents killed while defending our freedom since September 11th, 2001. Things get started at 11 next Friday morning. LSUS is also participating in Operation Support Our Troops, a non-profit organization that sends care packages to deployed and wounded troops.
