Thousands of Louisianians have the opportunity to pick up some extra holiday cash this season as a result of the state's unclaimed property program. State Treasurer John Kennedy says the state will list the names of those individuals who have money owed to them from the past year in newspapers this week. Today, you can find the names of folks from this area listed in the Bossier Press-Tribune and the Caddo Times. Unclaimed property is money held by businesses and other entities that goes unclaimed and is eventually turned over to the state. Kennedy says there's nearly $517 million in lost money owed to one in six Louisianians. Kennedy says all unclaimed property listings are available online at http://www.Latreasury.Com or you can call 1-888-925-4127.
