Two people, including a juvenile, now face charged following an investigation into the attempted burglary of a Shreveport home and shots being fired.

Just after noon Friday, March 18, patrol officers received a call of a silent alarm at a home in the 3800 block of Huston Street. As officers were arriving, they saw what appeared to be a group of people trying to break into a home across the street.

When they realized they were spotted, three males fled from the home, eluding officers. One of them, a 16-year-old, was quickly caught, while two other males managed to get away from police.

As the suspects fled, patrolmen reported hearing several gunshots being fired. Officers searched the surrounding area withe the help of K-9 units and ended up at a home in the 3800 block of Ninock Street. That's where they caught 22-year-old Xavier Oneal, who exited the house after repeated attempts by Shreveport Police Crisis Negotiators to coax him out.

After interviewing the two males, detectives charged the teen witn one count of attempted burglary and Oneal with aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with an unrelated incident, in which he's accused of threatening someone with a firearm.
